The Commissioner application, installed locally on a laptop, is used by system installers for the initial setup of a new SiteWorx facility. Commissioner, in conjunction with a USB wireless adapter (DLUSB), is used to wirelessly program lighting and other sensors to create a Mapfile.
A Mapfile contains information about an end-user's building and is uploaded to SiteWorx, the cloud-based lighting control, resource monitoring, and asset tracking application.
Each Mapfile corresponds to an Area (usually one floor of a building) in SiteWorx, and each Site (a combination of buildings at a single end-user site address) can have multiple Areas (buildings, and/or building floors). In SiteWorx, users click into an Area to view, manage, and report on settings and data.
Some features of Commissioner include:
- Drag-and-drop tools to alter the locations of sensors on a map
- Wirelessly program (Sync) all types of SiteWorx-compatible sensors, to communicate with a particular network/gateway
- Wirelessly program lighting sensors with basic, one-time dimming settings (active level, timeout, and inactive level)
- Save your work as a .map file (known as a Mapfile) for upload to SiteWorx
- Advanced troubleshooting tools
- Basic facility and building details, including name, address, and timezone
- 2D floorplan of a building - either the installer-generated lighting plan (recommended), or an end-user provided plan
- SiteWorx devices and their information, overlayed on the floorplan to show each device's location
- Devices are identified and mapped by their Serial Number, found labeled on each device and in the installer baggie attached to each device
Serial number tracking is essential during installation. Visit the Project Management Checklist for more details - Wireless network information, dictating which devices connect to what gateway
- Basic device settings
- Initial Group structure, later editable in the SiteWorx Admin Console
Once installation at an end-user facility is complete and the system is ready for commissioning, visit the Build a Mapfile Checklist page to get started.
