Network Page Overview

The Network page in SiteWorx provides a real-time, visual map of your facility's device connectivity. It allows administrators and tech support to monitor the connectivity status of gateways, sensors, and lighting nodes at a glance.

Additionally SiteWorx can automatically send emails reporting changes in gateway and Sense node connectivity to any subscribed user. Please refer to the Gateway and Sense Node Connection Status Emails article for more information.

Accessing the Network Page

To reach this view, first navigate to the Admin Console by clicking the user icon in the top-right of any SiteWorx page and selecting Admin from the drop-down menu.  Once in the Admin Console, navigate to the System section in the left-hand column and select Network.

Key Components of the Network View

Facility Map

The central area of the page displays a floor plan of your facility. Devices are overlaid on this map at their physical installation locations.

Device Icons:
  1. Square: Represents a Gateway.
  2. Diamond: Represents a Sensor.
  3. Circle: Represents a Light fixture.
Status Icons:
  1. Green Checkmark: The device is Connected and communicating normally.
  2. Yellow Exclamation Point: The device is Offline and has lost communication with the network.

Device Info

Hovering your mouse over a device displays a card with information specific to the device including:
  1. Serial number
  2. Device type
  3. Network
  4. Live connectivity status
Example Sensor info:
Example gateway info:

Disconnected devices will display the time of last connection noted as the Last Seen time.  If multiple devices have the same Last Seen time, there usually is a common cause such as the devices lost power at the same time. For Last Seen times are noted as:
  1. m - minutes
    1. Last Seen: 2m - node was last seen 2 minutes ago
  2. d - days
    1. Last Seen: 2d - node was last seen 2 days ago
  3. M - months
    1. Last Seen: 2M - node was last seen 2 months ago
  4. Y - years
    1. Last Seen: 2Y - node was last seen 2 years ago

Connectivity Summaries by Device Type

Located at the bottom of the screen, three cards provide an aggregate connectivity status for each device category:
  1. Lights: Shows the number of connected lighting nodes which includes both lighting sensors and complete LED fixtures.
  2. Sensors: Displays the total count of connected Sense nodes (SWN-TRN, SWN-WIO, SWN-CRD, etc.)
  3. Gateways: Displays the total count of connected gateways.

Networks Sidebar

On the right side of the page, the Networks table lists all active wireless networks (e.g., Network A01) within the facility, the specific gateway serial number assigned to that network, and a summary connectivity status of the devices on it.

Troubleshooting Offline Devices

If a device appears with a yellow exclamation point, you can hover your cursor over the icon on the map to view the time of last connection as noted by the Last Seen time. If multiple devices have the same Last Seen time, there usually is a common cause such as the devices lost power at the same time.

If a node is offline, check to see if the gateway associated the node is connected. The nodes communicate with SiteWorx through the gateways. Therefore if a gateway disconnects, all nodes on the gateway's network will disconnect.
