0-10V Fixture Characterization

0-10V Fixture Characterization

Overview

Alert
Only follow this process if you experience issues with dimming after Lighting Sensor Configuration. Use the instructions below to create a custom 0-10V fixture characterization profile to use in place of the Default profile that's usually used in the configuration process.

0-10V Fixture Characterization is applicable to all 0-10V fixtures connected to any SiteWorx lighting sensor. A Characterization Profile is generated by Commissioner and describes how a sensor interfaces with a particular fixture to dim it. At a basic level, it determines what voltage the sensor should output to the fixture to correspond to particular dimming levels.

SiteWorx has designed default characterization profiles for each of our sensors, and these profiles work for most fixture types. However, if a user is experiencing issues when dimming a fixture, or wants to define custom dimming behavior, a custom fixture characterization profile can be created in Commissioner and applied during the Lighting Sensor Configuration process.

Workflow

  1. Before running the 0-10v characterization wizard, ensure that there is steady light around the fixture/sensor, and turn all other lights off
  2. Go to Map > Characterize 0-10v
  3. Click Begin
  4. When prompted, use the - and + buttons to adjust to the lowest number where you can still see the light (generally this is 1), and click Finished

  5. When prompted, enter a Characterization Name, and then click OK

  6. Click Done
The newly created profile will be available for use during the Lighting Sensor Configuration process.
