Sticker Map

Sticker Map

Each SiteWorx device is identified by a unique serial number, which is printed on a sticker permanently attached to the device as well as an extra sticker inside of a baggie taped to the device.

During installation, the sticker should be removed from the baggie and tracked on a map of the facility to identify where the device is physically located.

Warning
Accurate tracking of device locations is vital to successful project completion. If you have any questions, please contact your project manager or SiteWorx Support.

Procedure

There are multiple sticker tracking methods depending on the size of the installation and preference of the commissioning agent, but the procedure outlined below is used most often.
  1. Print out a large copy of the facility floor plan
  2. Mark the location of each SiteWorx device, including gateways, with a number.
    1. For instance, if there are 750 sensors and 15 gateways, each sensor location should be marked with a 1, 2, ... 750, and the gateway locations may be GW1, GW2, ... GW15.
    2. Many CAD and lighting design software packages allow for this type of labeling to be automatically applied
  3. Download the sticker template (attached to this article) and print out the number of pages required to match the number of devices in the installation
    1. For instance, for 750 sensors, print 54 pages. We recommend printing double-sided to save paper
    2. The pages in this file are pre-formatted for proper sticker size
  4. Compile the printed pages into a binder to create a "Sticker Book" for safekeeping
    1. Fold the printed map into a side pocket of the binder
    2. This will result in an easy handoff to the commissioning agent
  5. As each device is installed in a marked location, remove the sticker from the baggie and place it into the sticker book in the corresponding location
Info
After installation is complete, provide the Sticker Book (and map) to the commissioning agent. It is required for commissioning.
Alert
When placing stickers into the Sticker Book, make sure the barcode is unobstructed and readable. If the sticker is damaged, write the 8-digit serial number into the space.
