Create, Modify, and Delete Zones
Zones are used in Commissioner to apply lighting settings to lighting sensors and fixtures, and to associate wireless devices with gateways. Zones do not appear in SiteWorx.
When creating a new Zone, you must specify a wireless network on which that zone will communicate (eg, A05). If the Network doesn't yet exist in the map, it will be created automatically (and, once all Zones associated with a Network are deleted, that Network will be deleted as well). Later, a gateway will be associated with the Network, when it's added to or modified in the map.
Multiple Zones can be created per Network (gateway) to allow for variation in temporary lighting settings during commissioning. A Zone can only be associated with one Network.

Zones are not used for lighting control settings in SiteWorx. Instead, SiteWorx uses Groups, which can span across Networks/Gateways.

Gateways should have no more than 50 devices connected. Keep this restriction in mind when creating your Zone structure.

We recommend commissioning lighting settings of 100% Active, 100% Inactive, and 1 minute Timeout. This keeps all fixtures at 100% ON with no dimming, preventing any lighting safety issues before SiteWorx goes live.
Create a New Zone
- Consider your Zone structure
- There should be minimum one Zone per gateway, and additional Zones should be created for any variation in temporary commissioning lighting settings
- In SiteWorx, lighting settings are applied by Group, which can cross Zones. The groupings and setting applied using Zones will be over-ridden after SiteWorx goes live
- Gateways should have no more than 50 devices connected
- Open Commissioner
- Click Add Zone

- Enter a Name for the Zone
- We recommend naming the zone something similar to the gateway that will control the fixtures in the zone
- Select the Network for the Zone
- This will dictate which gateway the devices in this Zone will communicate with
- Select the temperature range in which these devices will operate
- Room, Description, and Safety Lighting, and Ignore occupancy sensors are designed for the legacy LightRules system and is not applicable to SiteWorx
- Select the Zone's lighting settings (these settings will apply to all lighting sensors and fixtures in the Zone)
- Active Level (0-100% light output level, when occupancy is detected)
- Inactive Level (0-100% light output level, when occupancy is not detected)
- Delay [30 - 7200 seconds] (the time delay that the fixture remains in Active state after occupancy is no longer detected)
- Progressing Dimming: increase occupant comfort by using gentle transitions between lighting states
- Ramp up Speed [1-60 seconds] (time that it takes to go from Inactive to Active Level)
- We recommend no more than 1 second for safety purposes
- Ramp Down Speed [1-60 seconds] (time that it takes to go from Active to Inactive Level)
- 5-10 seconds is a common selection
- Coordination and Daylight Harvesting settings are designed for the legacy LightRules system and is not applicable to SiteWorx
